God, guns, gays and grit.
It’s as simple as "knowing" which is Good and which is Bad it seems.

I actually spent the night of November 2nd to 3rd on our living room couch. I thought that if I stayed there and continued to watch the election results, I could somehow affect them. And… well… if I did I obviously didn’t so do “enough”.

I am profoundly upset. I am amazed at the unconsciousness of so very, very many people. I can’t begin to imagine what my US citizen — non Bush — friends are feeling.

Listening to the “issues”, watching how the breakdown of the votes fell, I felt as though I had been propelled back to the 1970’s. I thought that we had moved beyond the idea of such a simplistic, narrow, exclusive society.

Wrong.

Very upsetting.

17% of eligible voters between the ages of 18 and 24 voted. 17%!! I guess they are still assuming that the older of their society clearly know what the Good and Bad of their God, Guns, Gays and Grit are. And, well, I guess they’re right. At around 11:30 on November 2nd, the Bush campaign declared a Bush victory. So… there they go…
