The groan that echoed through our house on my seeing this headline was… well… loud and deep.

And… no, no, no, no, no. No reparation of this kind please!

So… please don’t get me wrong here. If there are any broken ties between we-Canadians and our-American-friends, I am certainly all for repairing them. But… when the ties are of a nature that brings Bush and Bush-thinking and Bush-action closer to us, then a huge, resounding NO to that.

So… I will vote today. I hope most voting-able Canadians will vote today. And I hope that the ties mentioned in the article remain broken.
