Well… those of us here in Quebec are probably all a little nonplussed this morning.

A friend of mine sent me an e-mail yesterday entitled “1000 Marbles”. The long and the short of it is that in the e-mail was a story of a man who at one point in his life figured out how many Saturdays were left in his (average-lifetime-expectancy-)life. He figured about a 1000. So… he bought a thousand marbles and each Saturday of his life after that moment, he threw one of the marbles away. This was to remind him, every Saturday, to do something that mattered.

I have just finished moving (most of) the postings from the first “On Being” weblog to this version of it. And, I assume that if you are reading this, you have made the move along with me :o)

Season’s greetings…

I alluded to “master planned communities” in my previous post. I alluded to this then because it was exactly while my children and I were driving home from my parents’, exactly during the discussion we were having about our societal “systems”, the crazy lost perspectives many of us are sort of obliged to carry around with us and to function in (prompted by the “outrageous to us” 911 billing story) that we drove past a huge sign on the side of the road…

I have decided to get back into writing a a bit about “stuff” and this article (that you unfortunately won’t be able to read unless you are subscribed) is one that has been troubling me since I read it in print at my parents’ house yesterday.

City charges realtor $4,600 after hazmat team dispatched

Barrhaven realtor John Coburn wasn’t too pleased when his staff showed up for work and found his office had been vandalized. Just three weeks earlier, the windows had been kicked in. This time, the office was covered with a grey-green powder.
